Melik-Baschkopf Foundation Awards Alpine
Learning Group $500,000 Fixed Grant
and $500,000 Matching Grant for Adult Learning Program
We are very pleased to announce that the Melik-Baschkopf
Foundation has awarded Alpine Learning Group a $500,000
Grant for the Adult Education Program which will provide
continuing education and career training for adults with
autism. In addition, the Foundation has awarded a Matching
Grant that will match donations dollar for dollar, up to
$500,000, for a total of $1,000,000 for the Adult Education
Program. This new state-of-the-art Adult
Learning Program will provide continuing educational
services for adult learners with autism with a focus on
vocational skills that can be applied to real-life
employment and volunteer opportunities. The Program will
provide adult learners with highly specialized and
individual programs to ensure that they continue to learn
valuable new skills and focus on facilitating community
integration by placing and supporting young adults in paid
and volunteer job settings. At the age of
21, individuals with autism are no longer provided education
services through the public school system. There remains
very limited options for continued education for adult
learners with autism. This new program will provide critical
services to these adults and their families as they continue
to meet the challenges of living with autism.
We are truly grateful to the Melik-Baschkopf Foundation
Trustees for their generosity and support of Alpine Learning
Group and the new Adult Learning Program. With their help,
we will be able to have a "home" for our adult graduates and
ensure that they will continue to succeed.

 Joseph R. Baschkopf established The Melik-Baschkopf Foundation to
help support various worthy charitable organizations. Upon
his passing in June of 2006, Milton Kahn, Edward Dietrich
and Andrea Reiff became active Trustees of the Foundation
and continue Mr. Baschkopf’s philanthropy. The
Melik-Baschkopf Foundation is proud to be a significant
contributor to Alpine Learning Group’s Adult Education
