History

In 1988, New Jersey was home to only a few behaviorally-based school programs serving children with autism. Confronted with the challenge of securing an appropriate and effective educational program for their children with autism, a small group of local families joined with autism specialists to found the Alpine Learning Group.

Originally housed in the basement of a local community house, Alpine Learning Group opened the doors to its first four students in 1989. Over time Alpine Learning Group's Education Program has grown steadily, and now serves twenty-eight learners with autism, ages 3 to 21 years at a permanent home in Paramus, New Jersey. Alpine also serves families as part of their Outreach Program.

Throughout Alpine Learning Group’s growth, the organization’s mission has remained constant: to provide learners with autism and their families comprehensive, scientifically-validated educational and behavioral services designed to foster individual growth and personal achievement.

“I would not hesitate to recommend your program to a family member, and that is the highest compliment I can provide”
