ABA Therapy Programs for Children with Autism and Their Families

Alpine’s after-school center-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs are designed to maximize your child’s development and increase skills by capturing their interest and motivation. Our team of compassionate and dedicated Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) specialize in assessment, treatment planning, and ABA interventions, providing families with individualized ABA services. We partner with you every step of the way to ensure your family has the resources and support to nurture your child’s growth and development.

What is ABA – Applied Behavior Analysis?

The practice of ABA is focused on identifying the conditions and circumstances in which your child is most motivated to learn, and how best to maximize these conditions to enhance learning for your child. ABA focuses on developing skills so people with autism can lead independent, healthy, and happy lives, and is effective across an individual’s lifespan.

ABA Programs, Services, and ABA Therapy in Northern NJ

School Consultation Services

Our experienced professionals observe and provide recommendations for students in a variety of educational settings, assist with the development of ABA-based autism classrooms, conduct skills and/or functional behavioral assessments and provide program recommendations for individual students exhibiting behavioral challenges. We train school personnel and support staff in ABA-based inclusion practices, assess classrooms to ensure they meet state-of-the-art research-based standards, and provide on-going consultation to individual students and autism programs. In-service trainings may also be provided to school personnel on relevant ABA topics.

ABA-Based Assessments

Function-Based Behavioral Assessments

We conduct comprehensive function-based behavioral assessments to identify the variables that make challenging behaviors more or less likely to occur. Our team of BCBAs develops intervention plans, recommends skill acquisition programs, and provides training for family members and treatment teams.

Individualized Skill-Based Assessment

Our comprehensive evaluations are grounded in best practice assessment tools (e.g. VBMAPP, ABLLS, AFLS, PEAK, etc.) and keen observation of current home and school programs. Detailed written reports are issued following the assessment to recommend individualized skill acquisition programs for use in both school and program placement decisions.

Young Adult Transition Assessment

Our Young Adult Transition Assessments will identify strengths and skill gaps in essential life skills necessary for adulthood, including self-care, leisure, community integration, and social skills. A comprehensive report will document both your child’s strengths and the skill areas to focus on for a successful transition into adulthood.

Afterschool Center-Based ABA Program

Our insurance-funded Afterschool ABA Program at our clinic in Bergen County, NJ provides meaningful, individualized intervention designed to help each child make practical gains that carry into daily life. Goals are grounded in a comprehensive assessment process that informs an individualized, functional curriculum-based program for every learner. We target skill areas that matter most for independence and connection—communication and language, social engagement, play, daily living/self-care, and learning readiness—and translate goals into motivating, developmentally appropriate activities. Sessions blend enriching play with structured teaching so children practice and generalize skills across settings, activities, and interactions with both peers and trusted adults. We collaborate with parents to align goals with family priorities, share progress regularly, and support carryover beyond the clinic. This is a minimum of 10 hours per week of clinical-based ABA services.

Focused Behavior ABA Treatment

Our team of BCBAs will assess your child’s situation-specific needs (for example, visiting a doctor or dentist, getting a haircut, toilet training, or managing sensory sensitivities), and develop short-term intensive treatment plans to address those needs. The team will train parents and other care providers to implement and maintain the treatment plan.
