Transition Programs Admission Criteria
Our transition programs include two tracks for students to enroll in based on their goals and support needs. Our Business Academy is designed for individuals who require minimal support in the community, are focused on achieving employment goals, and wish to increase their social skills. Our Success Academy is designed for individuals who require moderate levels of support in the community, wish to increase their employability skills, and desire to be in a social learning environment.
A student may be eligible for our transition programs if they meet the below criteria

Business Academy
- 16-21 years old with a primary diagnosis of autism
- Scores on cognitive testing in the average to low-average range
- Interest in developing additional skills that will further enhance their career opportunities as an adult
- Ability to complete classroom tasks and engage in community activities/work in a 3:1 student to instructor ratio
- Upon graduation, would be seeking at least part-time employment, semi-supported housing and/or enrollment in college coursework

Success Academy
- 14-21 years old with a primary diagnosis of autism
- Individuals with an interest in developing additional skills that will further enhance their career opportunities as an adult
- Ability to complete classroom tasks and engage in community activities/work in a 2:1 student to instructor ratio
- Upon graduation, would be seeking enrollment in day programming, part-time supported employment and/or supported housing
Application Process

- Request information using our contact form and talk to one of our staff and/or attend an Open House to learn more about our programs
- Interested school districts should send student’s records for consideration to our Assistant Director of Transition Services, Nicole Torrone
- If student seems to be an appropriate match, we will contact you to arrange an intake assessment
- An in-person intake assessment will be conducted at Alpine and the decision on acceptance will be sent to the school district as well as the parent/guardian
